Close-up Filming Practice
I filmed this video with Libby to practice our camera skills when filming close ups and using different types of focus. We took turns to frame a different part of the fire extinguisher as an extreme close up, so that the audience had to guess what it was. We filmed 3-5 second clips using different techniques and angles such as, high and low angles and changing the focus to create series of videos that we could then put together in Premiere Pro, in the order that we felt made it the most difficult to guess the object, with the last shot being a slow zoom out to reveal the full object. We then added music and edited the video further so that the cuts would line up with the beat of the song.
I learned from this process how to use a variety of techniques to improve my close-up video filming as well as selecting the right shots and shot order to produce a successful product and how to use music for dramatic effect when editing a video.
